EPL Week-end

It's Liverpool's league to lose after a crazy past few weeks which saw the Reds take a commanding detached position at the top. It seems to be destiny in the making. I watched their win against Man City at Anfield where they were all at sea in the second period and where City were the only ones likely to pounce for the winner. Then on a moment of madness, Kompany delivered them the win. Silva had previously the winning goal on his toes but did not convert. This is a game of centimetres. Sunderland then did the Kops the greatest favours of all by getting points off both Chelsea and Man City.

The stars are really lining up for the Kops. Their next game against Chelsea should have been the title decider. Instead, with Ba's goal in the dying minutes of the UCL to see off PSG, Chelsea's own purpose seem to reach the UCL final. Now that they are almost there with Tuesday's return game at the Bridge being their most important of the season so far, Mourinho's hints that he will field a weakened team at Anfield on Sunday holds much water. To the delight of the Kops. Everything is going right for Liverpool. I think they will win the league. Arguably, they have another tough away game at Crystal Palace the week after. However, the Eagles are in the safe zone, so you'd imagine that it's not a do-or-die game for them. Let's not forget that Man City are also going to visit the Eagles, and have a tough visit to Everton after that.

Yes all roads to the title seem to point to Liverpool. No doubt they've been enjoying good fortunes of late, but also no doubt that they are genuine title contenders. They will be meritorious in winning it. Their squad has excelled above and beyond, and Suarez and Rodgers have been almighty in their contributions. Gerrard, Sterling and Sturridge have played their part in the most vital times.

However, it's not over until it's officially over. Who knows whether there is yet another twist of fate in this crazy season. But it would take a brave man to go against Liverpool at this point.

Some quick thoughts on the matches which start in a few minutes:

Fulham v/s Hull: Fulham draw no bet.
Stoke v/s Spurs. Home win.
Swansea v/s Villa. Draw (with not much confidence)
WBA v/s West Ham. WBA draw-no-bet
Man Utd v/s Norwich. Home win.
