As feared, the Real Madrid v/s Barcelona game never hit the heights, and the Catalans have now taken a serious option for the final. In fact, I cannot see how the Los Blancos can overturn this tie, given the way they were shackled at the Bernabeu. We are going towards a Barcelona v/s Man Utd final, which is a great advert for football as long as Barcelona play football without the persistent player-acting and bickering and ranting to referees. Regarding Pepe's red-card, at first, I thought it was harsh, but then looking at the replay, it seems a deserved one. Obviously Dani Alves made the most of it, just like show experts Sergio and Pedro, but I don't think the referee can be blamed on that one. The game itself was decided by the genius of Lionel Messi. That second goal was just a cracker. I don't think anyone in the game today can do such zig-zag runs with the ball at that speed.
On Thursday, the semi-finals of the Europa League start, with the best 3 Portuguese teams in action. I like Benfica's chances at home to Braga. Both clubs are a notch behind Porto, but Braga's away form is not particularly good. So I recommend Benfica as a draw-no-bet.
Draw-no-bet: Benfica
